Updates

Hello everyone, it has been a while since the last update. As you will have seen from my announcement there have been some big changes for the administration of development.

Changes to Development Administration

First and foremost, Group Staff & Management have now become directly involved with oversight of development to help Rohan in overseeing the Northminster project. We will be representing the community’s interest and encouraging productivity. We have also moved development to a simplified Discord server, which has already seen more focused discussions and engagement towards development. A new task management system has been introduced with payment provided upon task completion which is set before developers are assigned a task. Finally, we are looking to recruit more development staff from internal or external sources to boost productivity.

Current Progress

Next, I would like to share some of the progress since the last update. Whilst development has been slower than hoped, progress has still been made. There have been lovely additions to the map, including the expansive Chapsworth Museum and Hartby Retail Park, as well as various other buildings and map areas. Alongside the map, there have been various new vehicles made, expanding our very extensive vehicle roster to enhance gameplay and give players a wide range of options.

Our Next Priority

Our next priority for development is to implement private sector functionality – which should start over the next few weeks. I am particularly excited about this one as it adds new depths to the game that haven’t been seen before.

This should hopefully include the ability for company directors to manage staff pay, manage the company’s business account and manage payouts between other partnering companies, the government and staff. This freedom will mean directors will have to keep their company competitive whilst also ensuring to make a profit to purchase new locations, vehicles, renovations and even award bonuses. With freedom, comes responsibility, irresponsible owners may choose to misuse company funds and commit financial crimes which must be investigated and prosecuted.

Working as an employee for a company will also be a more exciting endeavour with NPC and player interactions planned as well as task-based working with payouts attached.

Retail crime will also be possible which will directly impact companies by stealing from their business accounts, company directors may choose to strike a deal with G4S to station security at their business or rely on the police service to respond quickly and recover stolen assets.

Hope is still here…

Whilst development progress has been stunted over the last few years, it does not take away from the very exciting game which is being created. The quality of development is second to none with an absolutely beautiful map, a wide range of stunning vehicles and depth to gameplay never before seen. I will ensure the team continues to post development updates and teasers. Stay excited – don’t give up hope, this is a new era of development now.
