Updates

Hello, I am very pleased to bring you this month’s Northminster update. A lot of progress has happened in the last month.

Building & Modelling Progress

Our building and modelling team have been progressing well with the following additions to the game.

  • New melee weapon models
  • New firearm models
  • New golf course
  • New tube station
  • Filler buildings & general map progress
  • New vehicles (including black cab, police vehicles, and TfL support vehicles)

Progress will continue here as the game moves closer to a completed state.

Programming Progress

Perhaps the most significant change has been the additions made by the scripting team. Especially as we welcome our new scripter, Garbeeze to the team. He has made extraordinary progress within his first week here, starting on major projects that have been planned for years. Please give him a warm welcome.

  • New Phone – COMPLETED
    • Includes the ability to download apps from an app store.
    • A new interactive 999 call system.
    • Banking capability.
    • Ability to customise lock screens.
    • Ability to contact other players.
  • Private Sector Functionality – A new diverse genre of financial gameplay.
    • A management panel to manage, promote and demote employees.
    • A business bank account for each business. This will be used to pay employees (automatically), grant bonuses, pay governmental invoices and coordinate agreements between businesses.
    • Functionality for company directors to set pay for employees.
    • Functionality for the government to invoice companies for rent, tax, etc.
    • Statistics tracking for employees to track productivity.
  • Crime.net – The long awaited organised crime functionality.
    • The ability to create organised crime groups (OCGs) ingame.
    • A OCG management panel to manage, promote and demote employees.
    • OCG dedicated property which only OCG members will have access to.

These three projects have been the main bulk of the work this month, with the latter two still under development to deliver the features stated above. These are complex systems and so will continue to be worked on in the coming month(s).

Alongside these projects, other scripting progress has been made.

  • A start to casual and environmental crime (ATM robberies)

You can see some sneak peaks of the progress of these systems below.

The Future

The development teams will continue to work on completing the game. With the major outstanding scripting tasks now being worked on, the completion of the game is now looking closer than ever. The team is aiming for an open beta within 2026. It is too early to predict the timeframe for a closed beta or completion at this stage. Your patience is much appreciated as always.

I intend to do a Northminster Q&A session within Westbridge this coming month for you to ask questions and make suggestions directly.

As always, we are looking for competent developers so if you have something to offer please open a ticket in our development relations server:
